As far as parts for American equipment, AllDataSheet is great for downloads. I use them myself. If they do not have it, I have to go searching for the data sheets. I do schematics and service manuals. I came, I saw, I conquered. It does not matter to me if someone wants to make a touchdown and in the end zone they dance around, put their arms up, dance what they want to dance, pull their pants down, go down on their knees, or whatever. All I think when I see such childish play, is think "Must be his FIRST touch down"!!!

I stared way back in the past, before there were computers. I have all kinds of data sheet books. I worked on car, before many of you were born. I have full cans of old oil that is before oil detergents. Do you see me pulling my pants down, or going down on my knee, in childish wonder? Nope! I am an adult.

I have all kinds of Parks Reference books, so that I can get another REPLACEMENT part to replace the Damaged part. Now I could take my digital camera, and take lots of photos, but I am not going to do it. So lets just get along, learn from each other, and not get into arguments. Today it is a changing world. What was here in certain years and certain times is most likely gone today. I have seen things come and things go, sometimes so fast that they are a blur to my vision. I have done the job of stripping used parts from PCBs too. I have all kinds of de-solder equipment, so I can remove a IC chip in seconds. Have to clean up the pins though.

We are here to get along and to learn something that someone else knows. Lets keep it that way and get along. It works better working together. One horse tries to pull a loaded wagon, and not until enough horses are hitched up to the wagon, is it when the wagon begins to move and go along like it should go along. We all eat the same way, and we all do other things the same way too. What is in America, is what is in America. What is in Europe, is similar to America, but different. If we work together in a nice way, we all get along and no one person's feeling are injured. Like I used to tell old people in rest homes, who were really frustrated, and attacking each other verbally, "BE NICE" They would look at me, smile and say "You are right. I will be nice from now on". They were hurt, angry, and then saw how they were behaving, and decided to change how they interacted with each other. A smile is better then an angry word. Lets all be happy and thankful that this is a special forum where very good technical information and things are found. Lets be thankful and be happy... I am!

ok guys i see your full misunderstanding for what is my table.

Tell me what transistors are 2n or something else[/QUOTE]

look attentionally on schematic of the coil tester. you see 2N3906 and 2N3904. they are, we know that good, 'american' type pop-up transistors.
they are - look my table! - E B C type. look THE header of the table. ie you CAN take ANY different type from THIS COLUMN.
        COLUMN E B C - !!! ie you can take 2SC9012 (asiatics type) for placement of 2N3906. or 2N5401, or PN2907 etc

NOW PRINT THE TABLE ON YOUR PRINTER AND HANG UP ON WALL NEAR YOU.

Just wondering something , Is there a difference in performance between the 2N2222 metal can VS the back plastic package ? I don't mean the pin out.

              Compare the datasheets.
The 2222 in the metal case can handle more power, I think

more heat dissipation ie more current

Do you think the Difference is big enough to effect the overall depth of a detector? I only ask because the coil I use for the TGSL was tested by Don, and he mentioned 33Cm for a penny in a air test, I only get 28Cm, I had only 2n2222 in the black transistors package at the time, im wondering if the metal can ones would help.

You need to bin sort them for gain as 2n2222 and pn2222 have no a b c ratings but i have had some very low gain and some very high gain from the same batch this may help you match the transistors you have to the circuit ps i always go with metal cans where possible anyway because the heat dissipation/power is better and i still think they just look "cool" especially wearing a nice tiny finned aluminium heatsink hat.
