  • Look for answer on CScope schematic.

    Hello all

I was reading a Cscope TR 770 schematic for an repair. On the schematic the 4 9Volt batteries were in series, 2 x 2, but in the Detector in parallel. I know from school this is not wise to do. The technicians from Cscope are no fools, but why this?

    regards

Guess they needed 9V . 4P (Parallel) provides more Amp Hours.

no data on this detector breeds speculation.

Yes this is the schematic i used, batteries in series, but in the detector in parallel.
Strange, and this is the third machine i had in repair with the batteries parallel.

If the schematic is right, then there is no way they can be in parallel in the circuit.

a lot of old cscope designs use 2 9v or 4 9v cells, in the case of two cell units, one battery provides 9v+ the other provides 9v- thats how they work old tech but functional, the 4 cell units work the same way but but use 2 cells in each "bank" to give more oomph!.

Sorry to bump an old thread but would this be the case on all the circa 1980/90s tr models? Cant find schemstics for love nor money for these old beasties.
found an old one with half the wiring to the battery connectors adrift.

CS660 is the same with 770 but without the meter.
