  • Gqrx v2.11 for the Rapsberry Pi 3

    If you have old useless vga monitor, Rapsberry Pi 3, HDMI to VGA converter and RTL2832 based stick; you can set up quite good RDS and have a lot of fun!
    All what you need is in packed archive that i am attaching below. Simple instructions included.

      Strange thing on those Rapsberry Pi 3 (haven't seen other models and versions) is that they come with micro USB connector as the main power supply connector???!??
      Having in mind that Rapsberry Pi 3 (assume others too) is a real power hog!
      Especially if you push it to stream.
      Also they come with literally tiny aluminum cooler.
      I don't know why is that, but i did urgent mods on those.
      There is not enough space inside the plastic enclosure; so i added smaller DC connector, yet much better solution than micro USB.
      Also added larger cooler.
      Now it is running alright. No glitches and no power downs, as it was the case previously when it was supplied through micro USB.
      Now, relating to RDS; it is all the matter of good antenna choice for the desired band.
      In urban areas this is perfect sniffer and radio spy!
