Dip Trace has been mentioned here but the free edition is only 300 pins two layers,

Recently I've found out you can get upgraded to 500 pins two layers (dip trace lite) if you request it as a non profit they will send you a upgrade code.

You can get 1000 pins and 4 layers for free if you use PCB ways design engine, It is basically the full dip trace platform, and has import and export capabilities.
I've not ordered from PCB way yet almost done with a board design so going to give them a try shortly so Ill see how their prices are.

With the super cheap PCB's from china, I have been testing some of the free pcb software again, as we all know each one has pros and cons, BUT I keep changing my mind, at the moment design spark PCB has me interested, I will have a look also at the PCB ways design engine thanks, where do they hide their PCB software ?

Thank you, can you make your own gerbers with it to use with other manufactures ?

Just found this "PCB Creator only allows for the export of files in a .BAC format, proprietary to Bay Area Circuits. PCB Creator users who purchase their PCB design from BAC will be provided with Gerber files upon request. "

figured their was a catch I did my design on the regular dip trace 500 pin and imported to pcb creator so I all ready had the gerbers.
500 pins is enough for most things but if making a whole pi design the 1000 could be handy. Either way Im going to try a quote from them see if their prices are good. to get that much design capability is expensive so it may come out in the wash.
                    Best regards

Just got DipTrace Non-Profit Extended which allows 2000 pins and 6 layer board for 250 Euro.
It was time to get some upgrade for my favorite cad, I don't plan to use other software for drawing.
