Are there any similar diodes in this equipment? Maybe it is a zener diode of 6.8 Volts. If there are other ones with other colour bands, remove one and test it to see if it's a zener that matches its colour band code.
It's not going to be a zener, in that location.
It is possibly a 1N68 germanium diode, described as 'gold-bonded'. They are normally packaged in that glass body, DO-7, I think..
Gold-bonded diodes have a lower forward voltage drop compared to point-contact types. The OA47 is a common gold-bonded type.
