      personally speaking if what you show in your picture works ok, and you get some proper probes its prefect for stating out.
      get that and learn to use it, then buy a fancy digital scope later on when you know how to use it, but never throw that old analogue scope away keep it.
      there are things digital scopes are crap at and then an old one comes in handy.

        I always find the analogue oscilloscopes more useful than the digital ones. Finding tricky details with digital scopes works fine with the high end scopes, but also in the economy class of analogue oscilloscopes.
        So if money is not limited, I'd buy a fancy digital one, but if I must break into a piggy bank it is analogue. Both will do fine, but a costly digital one is a better choice for showoff.
