  • I need help identifying a couple of connectors.

    Hi all,

It seems the battery in my Mirage no longer accepts a full charge (green light on charger never comes on to indicate a full charge). I'm replacing the battery with a new one, but the connectors are not the same. Rather than cutting the wires of the new battery, and butt-connecting the old connectors, I would like to just replace the battery's connector with the same type connector that the old battery has. Problem is, I'm not sure what to call the connector that I have, and where I might source one?

I'd also like to get a new combination gasket and cover for the detectors charging port. Again, I'm having trouble finding a replacement. These are pretty old parts. Maybe they're no longer available?

I've attached a couple of pictures that show the parts that I'm dealing with, and any help identifying them will be greatly appreciated.

I had similar problem. Device with unknown connector, only socket. Simply I did it on a 3D printer. I made 2 parts, used the electrical connector parts and then glued them together. Maybe not very nice, but it works.

Genius! Looks pretty nice to me, J. I think you did a fine job. Unfortunately, I have no 3D printer available to me.

I've got an AA battery holder that I can use, so it's not like I can no longer use the detector. I was hoping, though, to only have to replace just one terminal end instead of four. I suppose I could use a couple of wire nuts. lol!

      Thanks for your reply.

          Yes, yes it is!

I had sold it close to eight years ago, because I needed the cash to pay a bill. Felt terrible ever since, wishing that I had not sold it. About a month ago, I was thinking to myself that it would be nice if it were to be listed on ebay or something like that, so that I could buy it back (daydreaming). I swear that it wasn't a week later, I received an email notice from ebay pertaining to my saved Tesoro search. I opened the notice to look at the Tesoros, and what do I see? It was my old Mirage with everything that I had included with it when I sold it. Even the Teknetics bag that I had kept everything in. I couldn't believe it, and immediately bought it back. Luckily, the seller sold it to me a lot cheaper than he had it listed for. I think I paid $50 more than what I had originally charged to loan it out for eight years.
