          Hi,
a good voltmeter/ammeter project is here:

          http://elfly.pl/multimetr/multimetr_en_DIP.htm

there's also smd version in another page.

The stuff is about easy, and use an atmega8 mcu + a standard 16x1 or 16x2 lcd (with or without backlight).

The advantage is that's a stand-alone meter... can use everywhere, also on existing psu, analog kind etc.

          Kind regards,
          Max

Build your own Test Equipment !!!

Thank-You Max for posting this circuit . I wonder How much a cheap atmel programmer is ? One that can do everything and is complete ! Also , my question for you is , are the Zilog series of micro-controllers any Good ?? I think a couple of Bounty Hunter models use a zilog controller ? . I will check back in a few days .............Thank-You.............Eugene52

I found out that there is LCR meter information in a July 1998 issue of "Electronics Now" , photo is attached . I sure would like to see the article and the schematics , and also any other LCR projects . I guess they generate a frequency of 1 khz to calculate a unknown inductance or capacitance . Almost all circuits I have seen , use a PIC-Chip or similar controller. Anyone have a good LCR circuit schematic hidden somewhere ???................Regards..............Eugene

Check out this link for a report on how this LC meter works. There is a link in that report that will take you to the web site where the comple schematic and assembly instructions are located. This meter measures 150 mH maximum. It uses high frequency to measure small inductances: 60KHz up to 10 mH and 20KHz up to 150 mH.
