  • Homemede desoldering tool

When you can't obtain a special device for to desolder components solder on both side, you can use hipodermic needle for horses
    # 12-20 or 15-20. Here attached to metalic cilinder. You hot the solder with the iron ant at same time make circular movement
into pin of device and PCB.

    Hi Esteban,
But with this technique you will damage the PCB through hole connexion, right?

      Hi, Fred
Yes, I use this for to recovery components from many but many PCBs (in boxes) of equipment I have. This extracted components is for projects. This tool is for components difficult to extract. Don't used for recovery caps, resistors, diodes, etc. Just for many pins components.
When I recover of my interest, the PCB and not useful materials (for me) go to the garbage. Yesterday, with this tool extract a MC1403U, volt reference for 2.5 V. After extracting, I connect to 9 V battery and... voila! output obtained is exactly 2.5 V, so the component don't suffer damage.

        Hi Esteban
Other method benefit of hot air generator, using it for render
Big IC from two side or computer pcb .
        Best regards.

This needle thing is a good idea, actually dessoldering 2 or more sides PCB´s i a real pain, and hot air for many-pins through-hole components is not easy either, it will burn the PCB..

This needle idea is used for technicians wich repair electronic equipments used in home as TV, DVD, etc. You must have a lot of needle, because with the use these are deteriored.

Here a man who found a system called for him "Artiluge". He wish to sell the idea... Note the quality of the job.

Too bad the Website gives no Information how it works.
The Google Translation gave me the word "patent" -
can a Patent be secret ?

There is no patent, the guy is selling the idea to the higher offer, but there is one sentence i cant understand:"untill the buyer (of the idea) has patented the idea, i can only show results.
How one can patent it if you don´t know the principle?
Where has gone the solder ?

Also this tool is usual for to desolder components. This suck (aspires) the melted thin and suck strongly it. If you hot very well the pins, you can extract both side of solder.

Those solder pumps work quite well. Make sure to get one with a plastic tip, and move your iron out of the way just before hitting the button to suck the solder out. Otherwise, you can damage the solder pads.

                        teflon tip
Probably the best all-around dessoldering tool.

Indeed. I should have been more specific.

Definitely a great tool to have. In most circumstances, a dedicated desoldering station is better, but is not something a hobbyist typically has.

Mesh for desoldering. In the epoch of videocassette in the 80s I saw a technician that use this mesh for desolder. He has skill for to extract components with more 40 pins with it!
