    hello!
    i dont have enough knowledge about electronics and geo-physical systems..
    but i see that many friends here are very well about it..so i will ask your opinions...
    i have an EMFAD UG-12..after hundreds of data surveys with it,i could not reach any standart result with it..if i knew what was there under ground,then i could point it with Emfad,but when i dont have any idea about subsurface,then the results which Emfad gave have no meaning,and always causing me fail..for example,i can see an underground fortress which i had found years ago,or i can see a jar tomb,or a barrel,like in 1m-1.50 m depth..but as i said,when i work in an unknown underground structure,then the data gives me nothing right,i just fail.. i digged emptily many many times since it showed as deposit(in blue colour and weak signal level),or as metal (in red and with strong signal power)..it is really impossible to differ what it is according to the data which Emfad processed..
    after all of my surveys with Emfad,i made some ideas to work with it..now i want to ask you if these ideas would be useful..
    as you would know,Emfad says it was a passive reciever,which works by the present radio waves between 44-142 kHz..so,
    1.)if a radio signal measurement unit which would measure the signal power and quality in the survey area,is used beside emfad
    2.)Emfad can not measure the total magnetic field of the survey area,and thats why its data cant be interpreted detailed,so if a total magnetic field measuring and calculating device is used,
    3.)and if all these datas are put in softwares like Oasis montaj,
    -then can we reach a standart data process by which we could really differ the anomallies underground?
    i am expecting for your ideas,to discuss about it...

    I had the same problem. There are no transmission towers left in service in the USA that transmit the correct frequency (44-142 khz) I have mine in the hands of a technician trying to alter the receiver module to accept the 25kz transmitter in La Moire ND. Or build a transmitter in any freq range you wish. If you have resolved anything between now and the time you wrote this, please tout me. Thanks

          i have used this device for almost more than 4 years its really useless even the soft war so bad i think if look at my old CDs i might find that the problem of this system no ref for the colors and its not a metal detector its simply Geo physician machine thats all

            I still have mine and have built a new receiver module, however I burned up the processor board. Would you be interested in selling the processor board from yours? Actually, all I need is probably the 28-pin PIC chip from the board. If you will help me out with this request, I will give you all the schematics, etc. to re-work yours if mine works. Thanks
