    Hi friends,

I have bought 30 small pills of "charcoal" from a local drugstore. A good binder for the activated charcoal (AC) is starch, which is already contained in the pills. Starch in the AC electrodes can be baked to make a stable electrode forming.

I will try to use the pills directly for some experiments. As a seperator, I will use some fibreglas fleece. I will start with NaOH electrolytic (didn't search for KOH yet but I have some NaOH at home). The collector electrodes may not be aluminium due to chemical reaction with NaOH and KOH. But a high-grade steel plate should be perfect.

Now a very basic DIY supercapacitor can be started soon.

      Hi again,

the charcoal pills are dissolving in water completely.

Now extracting the activated charcoal from the solution. It will take more time.

        insane - 3000 farad

Maxwell 3000 farad 2.7VDC Boostcap® is one of the most powerful capacitors available. These are about 5.25" long x 2.4" diameter (excluding the heavy duty M12 x 1.75 threaded 0.6" long studs on each end). They are used in electric cars, trains, solar and other applications requiring enormous instantaneous power. This particular capacitor has a maximum power rating of 3020 watts and a maximum stored energy of 10944 joules (3.043WH). Leakage current is 5.2mA. Weight is 0.9 lbs. In electric automotive use they can recover much of a cars energy when braking that would normally be lost to heat. These are used (good condition) and were removed from huge assemblies. Each capacitor comes with two 12mm nuts for the studs. Hurry... Limited Quantity, While Supplies Last. Huge Discount! They Sell for $95.00 New! G17930
