  • Fault in Television

In my TV there is a problem in using remote control. Even when the new remote has been changed but still there is problem. If I wants to change the channel the direction I kept is not direct to the television. I don't know the problem is in remote or the in Television remote sensing.

As I understand, you can change TV channel, only direction of your remote have to be during changing some appart from TV? Correct?

If so, you first determine place of IR receiver on TV, remove all disturbing parts (eg. vase or something like) between your remote and TV IR receiver, clean translucent "glass" that cover IR receiver sensor on TV on both side and do the same translucent cover on your remote. Than this may helped.

      A little off-topic here...

      Anyway... try to solve it.

Now answer: did you let your remote hit the floor (fall down from say 1 meter height ) ?

If so... ok, your problem is maybe some IR led inside remote now points upwards or downwards or anyway in a direction that's not the usual, when use remote.

So you have to tilt it some tens degrees to catch IR receiver of TV and change to your preferite TV program...

If so it's easy: dismantle the TV remote: inside locate that led (or leds, can be 2 or 3 also). Then bend gently to be straight with remote direction.

Be careful: when remote falls other stuff could happen e.g. partial detach of components , e.g. at solder joints. If needed you have to resolder damaged joints, expecially after you bend components like LED.

Then, let me know if I saw it right...

      Kind regards,
      Max

        remote

What I do when this happens. Is hold the remote in your right hand and bang it on your left hand or the arm of the chair. At the same time shout obsenity at the TV like you Fxxxxxg Bxxxxxd. If this don't work I tell my wife to get up and change the TV manually.

You can also hold one end of the remote in you hand and with the other hand twist it as hard as you can.
The induced rotation of the beam will improve precision of aiming.
