Hi. i have problem in converting 2D IP/RS data to use them for 3D modelling with Res3dinv software. after converting it with res2dinv the dat file is empty and i got this : Number of x-positions is 43 Number of y-positins is1 insufficient for a 3D survey data set. any idea how to fix it? thanks.

ReRead the 3D manual and see what the X -- Y -- Z data parameters are.
You don't have enough DATA Points to do a 3D model.
PS use the Raw data file Not one run through the 2Dinv program.

This is a 3D survey taken in a Linear Fashion, ie a set of data points.
You have to tell the program How Many Data readings on one line then the Spacing of the Data Lines.
This is as best I can remember from 18 yrs ago while I was experimenting with this stuff.
do a search on "My BackYard" in the archives in 2002-2003.
