  • Question about Induced polarization measurments

Is it necessary to take 2D Induced Polarization Measurement with electrical resistivity? I mean sometimes it seems like there is no need for resistivity data but still thay were taken as well.

Used as a Reference to determine the decay response.

Thank you. I'll search about the decay response

Induced polarization forceses a voltage potential into the ground. Anything that can will momentarily hold a charge. Your measuring the Decay of that voltage to obtain your numbers. In order to relate that decay to some usable information you need to know the resistivity properties of said ground. Doing so you can obtain real usable numbers with the O scope or other means to measure the decay of that voltage. Otherwise your just observing arbitrary numbers of the Voltage Decay. Funny enough it makes little difference doing it that way. This has some info for you . https://gpg.geosci.xyz/content/physi...duplicate.html
