I think this has been posted (great to post again) and is a good document on building a GPR.
However, there are no specs or information about the antennas used.

They are just 'log-periodic' antenna's, and have been used for high frequency work for many decades, even dirt-cheap TV antennas use the design. Probably the easiest cheapest part of the whole GPR set-up.

Yes, I could see from photo in PDF they are Log periodic BUT since they Spec'ed All other parts it seemed odd they didn't spec the antennas they used or even mention what antenna to use.

A TV antenna, 54MHz to 806MHz, are NOT within the bandwidth of interest. This GPR runs at 1.3 to 2.6GHz so the antenna will be much smaller.

I didn't say they are TV antennas, I said some TV antennas use this design. I don't even know what radio frequencies are used for TV transmissions in your country. The point I was making was: they are nothing special, the design maths are readily found, a basic CAD package could produce the PCB layout, and a week later a finished board arrives in the mail.

All this is very nice, but when you study damping data (absorption into the soil ) on the waves in the range 30 Mhz- 3Ghz , then you will feel as a suitor ( gallant ) on the head of whom has been poured over with a huge laver ( basin ) ice water
