Yes Valchev, you pointed out correctly, REAL GPR!
A free basic GPR simulator can be found here:
http://www.geoscanners.com/gprsim.htm
A video tutorial on how to use it here:
http://www.geoscanners.com/videos/gprsim/gprsimqst.html
And an introduction to basic GPR technology here:
http://www.geoscanners.com/gprsim_tut.htm
If one would like to spend a few bucks then a book with very few errors is the "Ground Penetrating Radar 2nd Edition" by David Daniels. For those who don't like math there is an excellent book with almost no math "Ground Penetrating Radar for Archaeology" by Dr. Lawrence B. Conyers.
Regards,

I think "Geotech Forums" can help many people "to not spend a few bucks" if starting forum "Unreal survey devices and survey devices advertising with unreal depth"

So a cave system inside the mountain, with many rooms and corridors with tones of gold, The entrance to cave is closed "from inside probably".I know that the "army team" had search for an entrance with negative results. Recently I have locate the "exit" but is vertical and blocked also. Before I start unblocking the exit to reach the inside rooms Me and my team need a deeper searching tool. Can you make it to scan 30-40 meters depth? I 'll pay more.
Hello Sok,
I am in greece and have a Syscal kid switch24. I can search up to 15 meters.
If interessed contact me by Geotech site.

I believe you mean 100 ps (picoseconds) wide pulse, right? If that's so, then the answer is: none. There is no such IC, but there are multiple ways of accomplishing that, well at least three of them come to mind. Now, the interesting question would be: how big pulses in amplitude can you produce with 100ps FWHM? Or even better: what kind of sampling device are you going to use to capture that? Think like this, in order to reproduce more or less nicely without heavy processing a pulse of 100ps FWHM you'll need at least 5 points. That means 100ps/5 = 20ps sampling interval, not bad ah?
The other very, very interesting question would be: how deep into the ground or material are you going to get with a 20GHz antenna? Yes, that's right the pulse is 100ps, but the antenna has to be a least twice as much, otherwise you loose too much.
So far the highest GPR, or should I call it FPR (flesh penetrating radar), in frequency to my knowledge is one developed for investigating breast cancer and it went up to 5.5GHz and penetrated only a couple of inches in human tissue.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
RA

Thanks for ansver.Im impresed with your theory known. I not clerly make my question.I toolk abouth post #45.Mister Valchev tolk about sempler and his closed time around 100pS=0.1nS.I thinking about one more step .How relise this sempler and timing crcuit in some experiment.I found some op ic like ADCMP551 works around 500mhz,i meen that is enough for some start and can use like swich for sempler block..
Regards too all!

Working with this class of fast comparators can be a great challenge if you do not have access to a good source of pcb. They ring and oscillate just for the fun of it, a good ground plane and RF layout might be essential if you want this thing to work.
However, I can see you are now in the right track and starting to think in terms of aperture times and not about FWHW of such minute dimensions.
There are many ways of making such small time increments, the easiest one if you have access to it would be to find an obsolete now AD9501 from analog devices. Again, layout is of major concern.
