Here's an interesting bit of trivia I found in an
old "Pyramid Industries" Catalogue.
I don't know how accurate the information is!
This is what they claim!........The following figures
are based on PPM levels found in the 1989
"Handbook of Chemistry and Physics"
In many parts of the ocean, especially near fresh
water outlets, gold has been found in much greater
quantities. Gold in the ocean is no great secret.
Every gallon of seawater contains .000011 PPM
gold in a "Colloidal Dispersion" This is a large cluster
of Gold or other ions that are smaller than 1000
Angstroms in size. Once they are larger than this
they will drop out of suspension.
Approximately every 91,000,000,000 pounds of seawater contains 1 pound of Gold. Every cubic
mile of seawater contains 9,188.096.200.000 pounds of water so there is 101 pounds of gold
in every cubic mile of seawater, not to mention the
other values. At almost $484,800.00 per cubic
mile, it's worth exploring @ $400 per ounce.
With these figures,we can estimate that every 120
cubic yards of seawater has 1 cent of Gold.
In order to earn $1 a day on 30 pounds of carbon
[$3 per LB] approximately 220 gallons of seawater
must pass through every minute. For profitability, the
carbon would have to be in place for well over a
year.
Conclusion: $90 worth of carbon will yield $365.00
worth of Gold in one year. Is this profitable?
