I sent cassbiz http://www.okm-usa.com 5 OKM scans from 5 totally different locations. This is the professional response that I got:

    Hello HiiiQ,

I was able to take a look at the scans and they look most impressive from the surface.

As I analyzed the scans, it appears that there is a fair amount of ground water in the area. Also the most prominent target is on the ground but not deep. As a matter of fact it almost appears to be on the surface or right below it.

When the signal strength is very strong there are a couple of indications that need to be taken into consideration.

    1. Is there a ground fault that was traversed? If so, then is it at one point or does it continue on in a linear path?

    2. Is there a well or air shaft? A well and an airshaft from a mine will almost appear exactly the same from the initial first scan. Whereas an airshaft usually can be differentiated by locating a mine shaft or tunnel in the vicinity. Best guess when such a strong signal is realized is to take a metal detector over the target area and see if there is a hit there. In the event that excavation seems to be the way to go, as soon as the first 20~30cm of topsoil is removed, perform another scan. Is your target still there?

    3. Is it surface trash? This is by far the most frustrating. The signal is so strong that you think you are on top of something big. A standard metal detector will help you to determine if it is surface trash. The eXp 4000 has a metal detector accessory or just a standard separate one will also work. For the most part you are only looking from 0~20 cm deep.

All in all, like I mentioned earlier, real targets don't move. This appears to be a real target unfortunately it may be surface trash and I would scan the area with a metal detector to verify that it is or isn't before putting a lot of effort into it.

    Hope this helps,

Is that total nonsense or am I crazy? I tried to explain to my friend that he bought a worthless piece of crap and he doesn't believe me because it is so "expensive".
I taught GOLDEN KING PLUS is crap but it is at least based on real technology and can equal or exceed the performance of a $200 Bounty Hunter.
OKM is a low grade magnetometer with software that creates some fancy worthless pictures. Don't forget that it comes from the same company that makes the BIONIC long-range locator. A couple of friends have it but I don't even want to discuss it.....
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hello Bulsack (HiiiQ),

Though you think that the OKM equipment is useless garbage. Have you ever used it? There are several factors which determine the usability of a device and if it is capable of proper detection, regardless of the device or the technology. Geologic conditions can make or break any detector.

The scans you sent are impressive but then again if you read the email, it is stating that there is nothing there but ground trash. Also your friend will need to reconduct the scans for there are errors.

I have personally used the OKM equipment and have had finds greater than 3m of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Here is the last item we found at a depth of 9m just two weeks ago Saturday, 31 October 2009.

Also as a closer, I am here to assist anyone with their OKM equipment. If it is to analyze scan data or for training. Perhaps your friend can contact us and we may be able to help.

Let's say somebody is to build the $150 magnetometer featured on this website ,hookes it up to a free or cracked 3D program. How would it be different than the OKM that costs as much as a brand new Mercedes-Benz? I will provide the OKM EXP 4000 with the (top of the line) super sensor for this test.

        Well

You may attempt whatever it is you like, keeping it legal of course. Personally the unit works for me and many others. I have many finds. Since you or your friend is in an area with either a lot of surface trash or possibly a high level of mineralization you are having problems analyzing the data.

          OKM-GEMS Gradiometer
          Cat# 1158-3080
          $6,598.00
          Demonstration by Appointment Only!
Please e-mail one of our GPR specialists to set up an appointment:

Wikipedia: A gradiometer measures the gradient (numerical rate of change) of a physical quantity, such as a magnetic field or gravity.[1]
          1. Axial gradiometer. Such a device consists of two magnetometers placed in series (i.e. one above the other). The result coming from the device is the difference in magnetic flux at that point in space (a.k.a. first spatial derivative).
          2. Planar gradiometer. Such a device consists of two magnetometers placed next to each other. The result coming from the device is the difference in flux between the two loops.

          OKM claims:
The Super Sensor is a specialized antenna which offers professional metal detection features. Small metallic targets such as gold nuggets, coins, rings, jewelry and other valuable metallic objects hidden under the ground can be located easily with this antenna. Also it is very suitable to detect larger objects like boxes, bunkers, pipes, chests, gold or silver bars and other metallic masses which are buried deep under the surface or which are difficult to locate with standard GPR antennas.

Those claims are an insult to my intellect.

I just found out that another friend of mine is selling his OKM rover for 10,000 euro. He will take a significant loss but I figure it's a tax he will have to pay for neglecting his physics in high school....

The Rover C, personally I believe that you are a person with buyers remorse and doesn't wish to take any help.

By the way, the Rover C retails for only 6.100€

I will gladly help you understand the usage of the device.

                Hidden Genius

Years ago, I want to say it was in 2002 or 2003 there was a scientist in Poland, a brilliant analyst. He purchased a Rover 2003/4 and was so incredibly intelligent that in his mind was unable to comprehend the amazing functionality the unit had.

This gentleman had determined through trial and error the void determination function without knowing it. In the meanwhile, with all of his scientific knowledge attempted to reverse engineer to say that the unit was a "Fluxgate Magnetometer" and didn't work. To his dismay he was grossly mistaken and attempted to distribute a reverse engineered schematic of a copyrighted product.

His discoveries allowed our engineers to improve on the technology and software. This equipment is quite simple to operate. Although an open mind is necessary.

Anyone who has an OKM piece of equipment and are having issues. Please contact me. I have over nine years and 4 major finds. I am not an engineer, nor do I claim to be. I am a user who knows the instruments ins and outs.

You should be one of the those who have no clue about OKM piece of crap, I have some friend how bought differrent OKM equipment for a lot of money and now the are willing to take 90% of what they paid for, which I believe that what they will get for their junk would be more than its value.
Why don't you quit miss leading people and be honest because this forum is just for people to help and not to deceive.

A set of dowsing rods will do you good.

                    Carthage, answer me this.

So if the equipment doesn't work, why are there so many finds.

I have also had small finds.

When there is a lack of understanding, many claim it is the equipment that is faulty.

                    Cheers,

My fiends still couldn't sell their junk (OKM), would you like to buy it from them and try to find a bigger findings such as in your 5mn video show, which prove nothing as a finding but a miss leading show.

It looks like if I continue here, it is like beating a dead horse. You wouldn't attempt to fly an airplane without proper training, but instead there are those who buy a unit from OKM or one of its dealers and assume that you turn it on and voila your rich.

If finding buried treasure or other sub-surface anomalies of great value were easy, everyone would do it. Those who do make significant finds usually don't say anything. The small finds are different.

Is known that many people they do not know how to use their equipment at the best way. This happen more often in a case of geophysical instruments.
But this is also a good excuse for the OKM failures!
A critical question: is the OKM machines true geophysical instruments?

                              Interesting post

I just read an interesting post and in it the author stated that with his GPR half of the performance of the data lies within the interpretation of the results.

Yes, the OKM equipment (GEMS, Rover (C, CII, Deluxe), eXp 4000 & 5000 and the I-160 are true geophysical equipment. The equipment has been tested and is in the same area and field as the EMFAD and EM-61.
