Hi,
Couple questions regarding ground penetrating radar technology.
1. Operating frequency. Would you say single frequency would be enough or does the step-frequency approach give much surplus? I am thinking to use 500MHz single produced by linear oscillator. (Linear meaning it will produce sine wave not pulses)
2. Detection method. What is the data to log? I am thinking two values, primary being the time that it takes to hear the echo and secondary the amplitude that the echo has. Is there something else that should be logged?
3. Practical implementation of the detector. I am thinking to use AD converter that must have (maybe)8 bit resolution on 500MHz but how should the counter be implemented? We are talking about quite discrete time differencies.
In case of any answer, thanks!
