Hi all,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the postings and trying to keep on
top of things. I have not been an active participant lately because I
am not currently working on a PPM design. Maybe later.
However...
With the increased activity I'm having a time keeping things straight;
who's post follows who's, etc. It's tough to follow any train of
thought with these list server type forums. Plus, I'm on a Sun
workstation which makes viewing attachments, esp. images, a problem.
I had once proposed to Patrick that we set up a more traditional
web-based forum for mags, much like I did for the side scan sonar
group. Patrick's objection, as I recall, concerned access validation,
or at least knowing who is participating. I think this might be due to
some of the postings on the SSS forum.
I would like to again offer to host a mag forum on Geotech. I think it
keeps everything much better organized, and my forum code allows image
uploads directly to the server as well as email subscription, searches,
and complete thread views. Newcomers will have a much easier time
looking through old postings. I have not yet added user validation to
my forum code although I plan to; until then I will have to manually
keep things clean.

Leave off the "www" as it causes problems. As before, I will also offer
page space if anyone wants to post their project.
What do others think about this?
