degaussing a Trimble AG-114

anyone have experience removing the ferrite antenna in a Trimble AG-114 ?
(I wish to use it with a G-85
Trimble told me such was product abuse and declined to assist

I believe it is an option you specify when ordering the system. If it is a new one, maybe try swaping it for the correct model?

you are correct, though I can't get a callback from Trimble

the Ag-114 used by Geometrics has a pn: 38200-00 and the units I have are 38198-00 (eBay)
but the good news may be that Geometrics said the difference would not matter, now if I can get Trimble to confirm
