  • Need Proton Mag.

Im new to the list but am looking for a Cheap Proton Mag. I know that

Quantros sells them for about $ 1400.00 but wanted to see if someone on the

list has a good usable one with 1 G sensitivity. Im no wirehead and dont have

time to perfect one anyway. Any offers ? Kris Henkel, Palm Springs Ca.

for sale. They have a land unit. Thanks Kris

M.L.Dalton will fix it. Sent mine (2 fish marine Mag) back to him last year

for a reconditioning. He will spend all the time you need with him on the

phone. He is very proud of his units. Biggest thing is the unit has to have

a tuner changed when it moves from one area to another (magnetic inclination

change). His phone number is 214-691-4925, his address is M.L.Dalton

Research, 6035 Aberdeen, Dallas, Tx. 75230. Go to Quantros web site and look

at the unit. Then go to ebay and look at Ken's unit. (?)

          good luck

Actually, it doesn't need a tuner changed, it needs a capacitor

changed. I suspect that is why it comes with "extra capacitors"

according to the ebay ad. I believe all the proton mags I have seen

need that if they are moved too far geographically. I bought a mag a

few years ago for land use made by analog designs who also made pulse

metal detectors, they also included capacitors with a chart to change

it depending on where it was to be used.

              Good luck,

I dont know of any meteorites that have been found in North Carolina. Its a

tough place to look with all the soft soil and vegitation. I have a Catalogue

of all known meteorites and dont rember any falls in your state. I have found

11 in Arizona in a strewnfield where over 1000 have been found so far. Thanks

The Dalton I have does good. Am waiting for Quantros to finish their boat

towed unit. They are a little slow on responding to requests for info. Would
