  • distilled water

In an old book , The Amateur Scientist , 1960 I picked up the following : It turns out , however , that the addition of ferric nitrate to the water increases the susceptibility of the particles to the outside field and radically decreases the time required for energy exchange without affecting the rate at which the particles precess . According to the Aero Medical Laboratory group , no complete satisfactory explanation for the action of ferric nitrate has been advanced . It may be that ferric ions in solution decrease the magnetic interaction of the particles and thus render them more susceptible to the influence of external fields . A test solution is prepared by dissolving .4 gram of ferric nitrate in 100 cubic centimeters of distilled water . Regards Kees ( Cornelius )
