  • False readings

    Hi subscribers,
I am using a proton mag MX500 on sea bed searching on continental cost(West Galiza - Spain) wich is commonly nom ferromagnetic rocky, and have picked on some few places a very high sharpy readings (100 and over pT). After a look found a regular bottom, like around (nothing related with this anomalies).
Have experienced like this? I have changed for diferential readings (gradiometer) and have still same anomalies (less intense - 40 pT)on same spots!
Anybody knows what going on and how can I bypass this false readings?

    Greatings,

    Xavier

    Re: False readings

    Hi,

When absolute and gradiometer readings are occuring on same spot you can safely assume there is something there.

Sounds like the stuff is buried under the sand.
So ... start digging... and use a metal detector to pinpoint.
