Same mag as Phil's?

I came across this website and wondered if this was the same home made mag as Phil Barnes' unit. I think Phil has since improved on this one with a new coil.

The front end of the amplifier is almost identical to Nicholas Wadsworth's design from the 1968 Scientific American article, I think Phil Barnes' mag is also based on this so it's probably similar.

For the newbies like me out there, it is a mag based on the 1968 Scientific American article. Phil based his mag on the same article, but updated the analog circuitry with integrated circuits, active filter technology and toroidal sensors.

I did not upgrade the sensors from solenoid to toroid. But it seems like a worthwhile improvement.
