  • Proton Magnetometers: ORG-BP-1 and PMG-1

    Proton Magnetometer ORG-BP-1
    http://www.orangelamp.com.cn/product.php?id=40 ~3.8K USD (1 sensor). 2 sensors are possible.
    Made in China.

    PMG-1 Proton Gradiometer http://www.satisgeo.com/
    http://www.satisgeo.com/pmg.htm
    http://www.seismo.unr.edu/ftp/pub/lo...gisco-mag.html ~7K USD (2 sensors).
    Made in Chez Republic.

I am looking for a land mag for a geological exploration and was thinking to build one by EPE magazine design,
but recently I found these two not so expensive models.

And there is absolutely nothing on the net about ORG-BP-1 or PMG-1...

Maybe somebody knows something and could help me to make the right choice?

    Thank you!

    Proton mag

I don't know where you live but that might make a difference in what you buy. I live in the US and bought a Geometrics G-856 proton mag. This was several years ago and the single sensor version and at the time was about $5K. I don't know what they cost now but there is a gradiometer option available. If you need repair, you might want to make sure you get one from a company that will be around.
    Good luck

      I have 2 G856s and 1 G858
      cannot recommend Geometrics highly enough
every person one talks to about a machine has years of field experience, and they will ship a rental unit if yours breaks
