Added a draft version of the PCB layouts of my gradiometer project to the document at: http://perso.infonie.be/j.g.delannoy/BAT/PPMGuidelines.pdf

        comment about solenoid design

        Hi Willy

You really have done a great job!

I just want to make one comment concerning the solenoid sensor. In our modern world with all its electromagnetic noise you are able to use a single coil solenoid only far away from civilisation. This make the adjusting steps of amplifier and filter stages rather complicate.

I think, that the best starting point is a double coil solenoid arround one bottle. The two coils must have opposite rotational direction and must be seperated some centimeter. The opposite rotational direction of the coils leads to a opposite Polarisations direction and therefore to a summation of the PPM signals of both coils. At the other hand all the external noise is annihilated. With this design I was able to measure a PPM signal in my garden 3m away from my house and could use all my measuring equipment at home.

          Hi Armin,

          Thank you for the tip.

I shall update my paper accordingly.

            Re: comment about solenoid design

            your idea is appealing one.
can ou plz throw detailed light on construction method and other related stuff.
I hope it will be much much helpful for so many magnetometer lovers.
