"...I said that I hadn't done any research on them when I bought it..."

That's really interesting... did you or didn't you say the following in your original posting?

".... I was on the forums trashing LRL at that point (long before you and I heard of Carl, Sam, and Evan)..."

I guess it was just a natural assumption of mine that you would probably not be "trashing LRL on the forums", unless you had at least gone to the trouble to do some amount of research and testing. That's the only reason I asked you how you went about your research and investigation in order to form a basis for your opinions.

If you're now telling us you hadn't done any research, prior to becoming skeptical of electronic-assisted LRL, than apparently you went about "trashing LRL" without any good reason at all, except for what you found inside of one particular unit.

    I Agree with Charles

Charles: You are absolutely correct in your analysis of Sam's forum behavior. He has the classic method of bait and switch. Sam loves to bash. When asked to demonstarate his beliefs he handles the request by bashing, yet in another direction. I would love to hear about your boat detecting machine.

      Aquascan magnetometers

Can anyone give me some info on Aquascan Internationals (www.aquascan.co.uk) range of magnetometers? I'm looking to purchase a boat towed mag, and am interested in the range they have to offer. Does anyone have any experience with these. Reliability, quality, detection, ease of use, etc.

      Thanks

      Colin
