  • Anyone know of mag data logger?

Does anyone have a schematic and possible software that will link up with Phil Barnes proton mag? Thanks.

My logger accepts audio from any sorce. It looks like he has audio output.

The mini would work fine unless you will need more storage.

Not sure If I'd recommend your logger

I'd be careful recommending your data logger. Yes, the mag has audio out but if it is the same as most audible proton mags, it does not supply a VCO or amplitude audio signal. The audio is a beat between 2 frequencies. If I recall right, the output beats at a faster rate (higher difference between the 2 audio frequencies) as the magnetic field gets stronger. I really doubt your unit can accept and log that.

Good point Boattow. It would be best if the audio was a vco with amplitude. If he can send me a sample of the audio sound I could tell better. If he found he could not use the unit he could return it no problem.

        Thanks Boattow.

          VCO audio

By the time our ears can discern a change in frequency by listening for the warble of a beat frequency, the mag isn't too sensitive compared to the capability of electronics measuring the frequency. You might have something if your unit could be made to do this.

BTW, any idea why your blog has been closed off to the public?
          Good luck,
