    Is the sensor mechanically alignment required because internal alignment or external eg. if I place the both in a piece of right angled aluminium section would that be enough?

    The two sensors must be perfectly aligned so that they are measuring the same vertical field. Yes, the aluminum angle provides the necessary rigid platform to mount, but the sensors must also be oriented on their axis in the same direction. This is no easy task and should be carefully performed. Otherwise, the instrument will be VERY directionally sensitive and pretty useless in the field. The mechanical mounting of these sensors is probably more important than your soldering skills!

      Is the axis of the inside sensor parallel to the outside sensor casing?

        Use O-ring for the attachment of the sensor and nylon screws to the adjustment
