  • Magnetic Locators?

I'm Curious, Does anyone have a Schematic for these types of devices?

Apparently they can detect Survery Pins and other objects that made of steel, cobalt and nickel, up to 4 feet deep.

Picture just for illustrative purpose. No specific model intended.

    Hello Chemelec,
Many years ago i reverse a very good magnetic locator

    http://www.magneticlocator.com/

I make it but the problem it is the sensor : special ferrite with special permeability for it size, very difficult to have perhaps military for submarine use , This guys of Magnetic locator have access to it ...but i can say you it is very well made , and very sensitive if you want i can send here my HAND SCHEMATIC a little difficult to read but you can see and evaluate the complexity of it...

              Thanks Alexis,
I'll join it together and have a look at it.

                Schonstedt 52

                Hi Alex and Gary,
Alex thanks for the diagrams, I bought one of these on ebay and wanted to reverse it.

Gary, Alex is right the sensor is complex. It is a helically wound mu metal tape, about a perfectly straight ceramic rod. There are two sensor which create gadiometer and operates as a fluxgate magnetometer. Schonstedt has three or four patents which give a good explainations of these sensors. Sorry I don't have the patent numbers. A Google search "Schonstedt" should find them.

I plan on updating the electronics in my unit. The design looks to be 1970's. I am also playing with some High mu tape wound torroids and have functioning ring-core sensor and bread boarded flux gate circuit. The problem in all the gradiometer designs, is sensor allignment.
                Thanks again Alex

                Mark

I Joined all those Pic's together and Changed it to a 1 Bit file.
                    (True Black and White)
This now prints on an 8.5 by 14 inch paper.
Its Quite Small But Clear and Readable.

EDIT: I Tried to upload it Numerous times and it said it did it, But the picture would not come up on screen. (OH WELL.)
                    Maybe This will work:
                    http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Temp/Mag.png

And not that it Matters much, but Some of the Circuitry is Missing.
However I am going into Hospital on Tuesday for Lung Cancer, So I may not be around for awhile, (or Ever?) to research this further.

Assuming I come through OK, Guess I'll buy one, Just to Play with.

                    Anyway, THANKS for the Info.

I repeat 7,8,9 because 2 lines in the bottom of the schematic are not visible in the copy 4,5,6 sorry

Hello, please help me draw the missing lines in the diagram, indicated by a question mark? I have been tormented with this scheme for a long time. Thank you.

Don't waste your time with fools which are not even capable
of drawing clearly and fully understandable schematics!
Their circuits will work the same lousy as they work.
