Hello, this is my first posting here. I'm interested in metal detectors and have made a couple experiments in the field (and finished a BFO detector for my sister's kid).
I have a few Vitrovac cores I plan to make magnetometers from, though the cores are quite small at approx. 18mm diameter. The magnetometers are supposed to be used for a magnetic navigation device in a model plane, but they might have applications in metal detection as well. Planning to go ahead with some instrumentation amps from TI, but I'm not sure when I have the time for it. I'll post schematics and results as soon as I reach experiment phase.
