Re: very intrigueing... you have the copy?

You can download one year of the issue only for US$ 10.99. I think is the most cheap online issue. This is the address, but now is not available. The editor wrote me that they are with some problems.

Re: very intrigueing... you have the copy?

Great article using the Flauxgate Mag/Gradiometer setup. I am disapointed that the system does not log GPS location constantly, only at the beggiining and end of a session. I would be more likely to want to flag locations as I monitor. I think this would be more practical. I have a pdf of just the article if interested.

        Thanks,
        RGecy

              PDF file of magnetometer circuit

I've stumbled across this form by accident and would like to know if I could trouble you for a copy of this article with the circuit so I can build one myself. I've tried to register and there seems to be a problem with the site server. My address will follow. Thank you in advance for your time and courtesy. Bill

I tried the gradiometer using two aligned FGMs without any orientation signal correction. Works fine when not moving but very unstable other way.
Can you e-mail me the pdf please? I would like to try this.
                Thanks

                  Fluxgate Mag

I built the differential fluxgate mag. It works fine except for one very important problem. With a single fluxgate at each end of the rod it only measures the magnetic field in the axis of the rod (assuming it is aligned with the two fluxgates). Magnetic fields are a three dimensional vector and to resolve the magnetic field into a single vector readings need to be taken in all three dimensions. To get the actual total magnetic field strength direction cosines of readings in all three axis need to taken to get field direction and magnitude. This is very difficult with only one axis as the measurement needs to be taken in all three and that is difficult. The best way is to have a three axis fluxgate at each end of the rod and have a microcontroller do the computations. The six fluxgates need to be very accurately oriented to get a good reading.

I have built this project and is up and working very well. Yes the sensors are more sensitive when aligned directly with the magnetic field, but will still detect a gradient in lateral fields.

I cannot send the files to anyone because of copyrights. EPE does sell back issues individually.

I have been very impressed with the overall capabilities. Highly recommended!

Whats the practical resolution, have you any plotted
                      results that you could show?

Have you got a copy of differential fluxgate mag. plans/schematics etc, that you could forward?
Would appreciate a copy if at all possible.

                        Cheers.

                          Hi,
Might be the software, logger or both. If software maybe try something
compatible, or burn your own chip-HEX keys etc. MPLAB or PonyProrammer
(http://www.lancos.com/prog.html) or similar, and tell it what you
want it to do... How would you go utilizing the gps logging component of boat
                          system (radar/sonar/fishfinder/datalogger/screen..etc)??
Perhaps its something you`ve already tried.

I`d like a copy of the article if you would be so kind as to forward me a copy.
Or if anyone could- Would be much appreciated.

                          Thanks

                            HELLO, HELLO, Anyone there??

Nevermind, forget this place, nothing much to help you here.

You can hook Carl Morelands design up to PC, by possible use of EDE300 chip,
Or you could just use the SCL007 chip/schematics and hook it directly to PC/Laptop or logger/reader then PC/Laptop.
Don`t know how to post diagram here, but I`m sure your smart enough to put it together. I`ll send it to your email address.
By the way, what`s wrong with a cheap gps unit and just taking coords where you are standing at the time??? Sumfin wreely wong wif sum of deez folks now dont it seem.

GPR, theres something else, read another thread from some Jeff fella(reckons it don`t work, where`s he been....under a rock...it works for what its designed to do, the crew were using GPR off choppers in the Gulf and Iraq (got a couple of pics, nothing flash just the chopper with a couple of horns one on either side) pitty wasn`t used to it`s full capacity to confirm WMD), And you can put that together yourself. RFCW Tx daughter board & Rx daughter board, bowtie or horn config search head etc.

                            Have fun & goodluck

I interest for inside of probe but and out.
                              Have any other article here?
