Another use of magnetometer

If no other good reasons, least there is indeed good reason to make magnetometer now - to monitor relative Earth magnetic filed
on daily bases and follow rising curve (if there is any) as September 2012. arrives.
Last couple days i used my diy EPE gradiometer to check if there are any changes different than referent values.
Truth is i haven't spoted significant changes at all.
Usual referent values at my location are 45-50 000nT.
Exactly; ~47 000 nT in front of my home.
Last couple days those values are jittering from 46 900 - 47 200 nT.
Quite normal values.
Nothing to worry about... at least not yet!

There is pretty accurate chart that presents relative values :

Do not measure EMF inside your home, because there are lot of industrial noise sources that may affects real values.
ADSL router is a hell of noise source! Among other household gadgets...
Do measure it outdoor, away from any stronger noise source.
Inside my living room i got 88 000 - 95 000nT.
Just 10 meters away, outdoor, as i noted, i got ~47 000nT.

It is estimated "main strike" to start in September 2012. and ends in March 2013.
Main consequences will last at least 2 years.
However, it is not possible to estimate nor anticipate overall secundary consequences and their lasting.
People from big cities and urban areas will suffer most.
Some areas on Earth will suffer more and some less.
Our task is to be prepared. How? Tough question!
