Come on guys...Look at this as a simple audio amplifier, put a 10uF cap across the 100R emitter resistor (it's called a bypass capacitor)..Should give the result you're looking for (unless I'm teaching you to suck eggs in which case, just tell me to get lost) .

Also, if the audio supply is connected to the cathode of D8 then WHAT is D8 doing? Nothing that I can see, unless it's the wrong way around??

Sorry if that came across a bit "smart arse-ish". You're absolutely right though, we sometimes forget the simple stuff. It's easy to do in electronics as there's so much to remember anyhow and quite a lot is obsolete in under a week.

I always remember a great quote from Homer Simpson "My brain has so much stuff in it, evertime I need to learn something new, I have to forget something else to make room"! SO TRUE!!

Go on put me out of my misery, did adding the cap work? I gotta know hehehe.....I would think you could probably go as high as 100uF.

Hope my suggestion helped you guys.

gonna try to sort the unknown parts as a project dont get me wrong the barracuda is a good starting platform but thats all it is afterall if it was anygood really
anchor would still be trading and we would all have the 2012 model

After doing alot of research into Anchors business set up ive come to the conclusion that one of the reasons if not all wasnt due to there engineering capabilitys but there business practises.

Even far back as 15 years ago people were complaining because Anchor had no after sales service, even while under guarantee if coils were breaking down or coil socket which by all accounts was quite common they were having to take them to independent dealers who were often replacing them with Whites surf coils together with a small modification, which was proberly the socket on the housing to marry the two up, and this went on till they ceased trading.
Also another thing which suprised me to know end was Anchor would and never did export to anywhere else out of its country, it was there policy.
There was one particular instant where a customer had bought new and had broken the lwr stem whilst still under guarantee and know way would Anchor supplie a replacment.

This is a typical modified Barracuda that was been done while Anchor were still in business and after they ceased trading not because it was any better but because Anchor had know backup service, so clients had know choice.
My observation over the years, Have known some very clever engineers in my time, running a business is a totaly different ball game.

                  Regards

                  Dave
