I noticed that the sound volume is too high, I looked for a simple way to change it without void the warranty my MXT have a week of life.
So let us go with the change, without too much difficulty you chose to act directly on the audio output power that goes to the speaker.
Remove battery pack open the metal box that contains the pcb circuit removing the eight screws for added convenience remove the armrest:
We will be faced to the main pcb unique, may be different in older models, however, identify the wires going to the speaker, in this case the two green

Get a trimmer 100 ohm and solder three tiny wires of different colors in order to locate them when you go to solder them to the pcb, then insert the whole of a piece of tubing termic so as not to short circuit, make a hole in the termic tube for be able to rotate the trimmer

Pass the wires of the trimmer in the upper part of the battery compartment, so as not restrict the movement
Disconnect one of the two green wires that go to the speaker and connect the terminal to the right of the trimmer (I used an orange wire) well insulated connection.
Then solder the left end of the trimmer at the other end of the speaker (I used an orange wire) taking care to leave the wire connected to the original green
The third terminal of the trimmer will instead soldered to the speaker terminal where we had disconnected the green wire (I used a yellow wire)
Now you find yourself in a situation similar to this photo:

Bring out the trimmer from the battery compartment making sure that the wires do not prevent the insertion of the pack, plug in and turn on the MXT, try on some targets and adjust the trimmer to an optimum volume, you can insert trimmer and wires on the right side of the guide to the battery pack, making sure to tie it with a thin wire (not electric) you to fix with tape on the battery compartment cover.
This will serve you if you should re-adjust the volume and not force you to reopen the whole.
As I said at the beginning, it is certainly not an optimal solution, but it is just to not make changes too radical of the metal-detector under warranty, even those who have no such problems can be applied one potentiometer in place of the trimmer, one of equal value, after attaching with his knob next to the others and respecting the same connections, so you always have the possibility to adjust the volume.

Finally the simple wiring diagram, as you can see the output load seen from the audio circuit of the metal-detector is more or less constant so as not to create long-term problems to the components of the audio amplification.
