  • C.scope CS4PI and minelab DD coil

    Hi
    I want to use minelab DD Coil (sd2200d) on a C-scope CS4PI.
There are 5 pins on the minelab coil, what are the connections number : RX and TX,
The CS4PI is similar to CS6PI, can you confirm that my connection project is correct?
    thanks

Pin 1 is RX ground, Pin 2 is RX receive signal. Pin 5 is TX ground. Pin 4 is TX transmit.

You should put the 2.2k in line to the input to the preamp from the RX coil so break the connection between the 2.2k and the TX coil and move the RX connection to the 2.2k resistor. There should also be a RX damping resistor in the coil if you are building your own DD coils. ML DD coils already come with a damping resistor in the coil.

This pin layout was posted at:

Drop down to my post and the pic of the connector. Now, you don't need to connect pin 3 at all. It was shown that way when sent to me. In fact, I now use pin three for other purposes.

The DD minelab coil works well on cs4pi with mods, it was necessary to add a other resistor on the TX coil to get the same resistance as the cs4pi coil 12,2 ohms.

          First tests:

Seems to be less sensitive to small gold nugget, quartz upgrading enhances this problem. Delay adjustment would be perfect!
For ground effects it is not the same detector, one test in the garden showed a very good ground effects this detector is now very stable.
This weekend I'll test on mineralized soils.
