  • MineLab Sovereign GT disc repair????????

Hi there Peeps can anyone shed some light on this matter I have a GT and wish to replace the the DISC controller which is part number RT103 on the circuit board. This is the pot controller, what I need to know is the circuit board a multi layer board where I can not remove the pot or is it a straight solder and replace job. Also can anyone tell me the values of the POT for me to buy a replacement thank all best wishes from peter ([email protected])

Easy to change, if you can handle a soldering iron then no problem.

            Peter,

Not sure what you mean about a multi layer board. There's a front and a back, nothing in between. 3 holes 3 pins..... simple job.

Peter we can measure pot and order a replacement then replace. Happy to help but from what I've seen so far your skill with iron is well up to the job.

Okay if the board is a bog standard circuit board that changing the POT is no problem for me Woodbob if you know the resistance of the POT then I would buy one from you yet again thank you all for your help

Okay PEEPS lots of good help here but has anyone ever got the true ohms value of the disc pot as I want to make this change over a one step process to reduce possible damage to the board

                          true Ohms... 30-100 KILO OHMS = 30.000-100.000 = 30 000 - 100 000 Ohms.

please if you are feeling that your level in this f-ng sh-t electronics is zero ask anybody technician among your neighbour.
