  • All metal mode modification

How hard would it be to input tones in a true all metal mode?
In other words, instead of having one tone to run all metal mode, have the same option to setup a tone for ferrous and a different tone for non ferrous targets. I use the all metal mode in areas where trash is low and also where the ground is bad.

It would depend whether you can tolerate a gap between ferrous and non-ferrous targets or not. If you are fine with the gap, there are mods that produce a different tone for (all metal) AND (NOT(non ferrous)) e.g. they do tthe common discrimination arithmetics with inverted non-ferrous discrimination channel. The gap between ferrous and non-ferrous is a consequence of anti-chatter filters in action. So if you are not into such gap, the only hobbyist option for the time being is IGSL.

Have a good idea of tesoro. Two channels operate close to and from ground phase.Signal there when there is a match in both channels.Work well in salts ground .Third channel discriminator.

I know or think the V3i has the ability to assign tones to different ID numbers. I'd have to ask my friend on that one, but to have a machine with motion all metal mode and let the iron sound low and everything else have a high tone would be what I need.

What you're describing sounds like how the XP GoldmaxxPower / GMAXX2 (and presumably the standard Goldmaxx) work. And, based on what I've read, the Deeptech Vista / Vista Gold, too. They don't use differentiators/double-differentiators to work out where the signal peak is, they just fire it continually to your ears, and your grey cells can hopefully decipher it.

If you don't want to mod, pick up a MXT Pro, run in coin & jewelry mode with tones & Zero Disc. Flip the mode switch to Relic mode but don't touch a push pad button. Voila your in all-metal with tones.

ArizFlash, that is the same thing Keith Southerland told me about the MXT.
And my understanding is the V3i can do the same thing
