  • coinmaster classic2 meter question please

    can anyone tell me if its possible to add a meter to a whites coinmaster classic2?
    this unit has only the volume and discriminate and its an awesome little coin getter and i bought it new and gave to my dad...but hes constantly digging his *** off because he cant quite get used to the "coin tone" which the classic2 doesnt vary in tone (from the several times ive used it and cant tell that the tone changes)
    so i thought maybe if theres a way of converting a multimeter (like on my sov xs-2) and make it work with the classic2?
    the classic coil also is hardwired to the control unit (but i can remedy that with the connector i just bought)
    ive done extensive searches but i cant seem to find anyone that can help
    if any of you guys could point me in the direction i need to go id appreciate it
    thanks

      thanks but i cant find it and also cant figure out how to connect a meter like the ones that Ron builds out of the multimeter
      this coinmaster only has the single control knob to turn it on....the volume is wide open as soon as you turn it on....and this same control is the discriminate knob at the same time.
      im going to try to mod the unit to add a threshold to it....then im going to try to build a multimeter id meter so dad can half way know what kind of metal hes digging at least
      but thanks kt315 for replying and trying to help

        I believe all the Classics are based on the same circuit. Maybe looking for a add on meter for White's Classic
        will turn up something?

        Here's the patent on how they do the ID on the Classic ID;
