  • IDX PRO blown D4 diode....anyone seen this? Anyone know the value?

I just noticed this,it looks like it's been fried for awhile but the detector still turns on and works somewhat. The entire side is split and burnt. What could cause such a thing?? Anyone know the values for a replacement please? Looks like 0247. Is this a Zener?
    Thanks guys!!

maybe the batt got fitted backwards, this is like an intentional short circuit so you dont nuke all of the components, just the diode.

Currenlty you have NO protection - cut it out and fit a replacement £0.10p

Someone else had one go less than a year ago. Was the only damage.

excellent thanks guys! I have absolutely no idea how that could've happened as the battery can only go in one way but ill fix it. maybe happened before I got it.
            thanks again!
