second step. making main shield, a foil plate, because the graphite layer is like 'additional one'. and you do a contact to the graphite layer via the foil plate.
foil plate may be from textolite or as in the pic a copper glued on carton. carton is for galvanic electric isolation of the board from the shield.

the foil lays on the graphite touching. so there is a contact.

mr KT, i cant stop my self from asking:

why do we use both graphite and copper plate for shield? what is the idea behind it?

wouldn't a copper "box" around our pcb make a strong shield?

just technical blah blah while waiting for pcb to arrive

also KT, do you think we can benefit of the better characteristics of this custom 4066 chip? it is expensive though, but do we need it?
i read in the audio forums that it makes night to day difference in cassete decs etc, but do u think we need it at the DP ?

dear KT i just recieved the pcb!! man this stuff is GOOD !! professional work!!

thanks for the surprise too, realy appreciate it !

i will start making it in the afternoon

Tomari, I am glad with you too that stuff arrived without a delay!

                    good luck =)

why do we use both graphite and copper plate for shield? what is the idea behind it?

                    - the idea is a dependability and notice there graphite covers forward panel under pots.

wouldn't a copper "box" around our pcb make a strong shield?

                    - certainly it will work even more better. but more hard in realization. my way is simplest and enough.

yes, DD3 is needed in some selection, on a resistance in OPEN state - the R of every key has to be approx equal.
bulgarians wrote about it... even more, they made and used 'especial desk' for the selection...
but then a related question - for what you did add AUTO-MANUAL switch and a pot there in SAT part? - no answer, no more those genial experienced bulgarians with us...
answering to you, we do not need in the custom 4066. ordinary 4066 is enough and works good. DP is not Hi-Fi audiophils preamp =)

hello KT, pcb seems to work but i need to measure frequency before i solder the stth and irf, can you please tell me what points to use on the board to measure it?

hi, there is not difference where you measure the frequency either in T2 or T3 point. if you have dual beam o-scope
touch one probe by hand - you will see the AC pickup voltage. do not know standart of electric net in your country...
let it be 50Hz. then second probe set on a test point. tune P.P.S. pot while you ll see
full synchronizm - a signal has not be moving one in regard to another.

if you try to tune the frequency with IRF being soldered... remember if you set a probe on T3, on GATE,
this is may be danger be cause the probe has some capacitance you bring in the circuit.
                          so... exclude this case.

thank you KT, i dont have an o-scope any more, but i used a tester that i trust and tuned to 100.00 hz (measures exactly 50.00hz at ac plug)

i will solder irf and stth now and i will proceed to coil tests at thursday

i must rest for now because i have a very important meeting tomorrow.

pcb seems to work realy nice.

i have a lot of work to do, shield, box, new coils i try not to hurry

i accidently ordered smaller package SMD caps (same capacitance and voltage though) but managed to solder them pretty easy THANKS TO THE PROFESSIONAL WORK YOU DONE WITH THE PCB DESIGN!!!

if all goes well, i plan not to go for hunting in the weekend with the new super DP, since it is illegal in my country

thank you for the nice feedback!

those pics I see in one forum... 2x2m coil at scanning of a terrain...

hello, i got 20cm on the 1 lithuanian cent. the coil was bad 25cm diameter but 700uH and a lot of interference around (2 fluorecent lamps just above the coil, no pcb shield yet, lots of metal around) i will make a proper coil and try again.

very good result Tomari! people wait a video from you -!

one question, after i reset, i can turn the threshold all the way to FULL and still there is no false detection is this the way it works?? i remember on turkish pcb i could turn the threshold around 7 to 8 and there i got 1 beep every second

maybe this happens because of the 700uH coil?

have yet not answer... my guess turkish board has more un-stability. my coil 1x1m has 550uH and worked good on first DP. 700uH has to work...
but sure do not know how...
