hi all, i have just done a repair on a whites prl1, damaged coil cable and a general clean up and service.
this detector is an american model, its the us trade professional detector, in the uk we get a model called 3900 pro plus however that is only the name, inside the board is like the id pro.

now the board inside the prl1 is also like the id pro,Click image for larger version

if you open the pictures and look at them you will see they are all based on the same design, what i'm wondering is if some of mr bills mods could be done on these.
i was told that my 3900 pp could not have the mods due to being like a coinmaster 3900, but i discovered that the board in the 3900 pp sold as a trade machine only in the uk is actually an id type board.
my hunch is that whites sells the prl1 in the us, and whites uk sells the 3900pp here, but in reality they are the same detector one made in Oregon and badged prl1, and one assembled in inverness and badged 3990pp.

so if they are the same circuit can the mr bill mods be done on the prl1?.
and does anyone have a schematic marked prl1?.
maybe carl would know for sure.
    thanks,
    aly.
p.s i wish i could get pics to show in the post instead of just attachments
