If you have to ask its perhaps not an option for you.
Sorry, but depending on how old the circuit is (or how new is the detector)
only the producer itself may have the schematics and any info.
What you can do is trial and error hack the switched on and running PCB
but this is not recommended if you're no expert and: you could destroy the whole thing.
First you have to locate the different circuit areas - coil-circuit, analyzing, output.
If the output incl. signal-processing runs over micro-controllers you will have no good chances.
If its analog you can try with some high enough resistor bridges or other electronic parts
to get a steady pinpoint signal if a metal object is near the coil and then add an external switch to that "shortcut".
If you're no electronic-nerd its not worth the whole trouble and risk, better get yourself a good additional pinpointer
like the Makro Pointer or Garrett Pro-Pointer AT and use very short cross-sweeps to locate the target.
Or / and sell this detector and find one that comes with all the wanted features. Good luck.
