Need help with p3 connection on surf master 1.2 APBERG

Hi, I purchased a Surfmaster 1.2 APBERG metal detector off ebay, I have one problem, the P3 delay connection is modified. It does not have a pot for adjustments, In the pic you can see the yellow wire which is not connected to any point, I do not know where it should be connected. The other two wires Red and Black go to a switch which set delay one and two, also the bridge black wires in the pic somehow connect together..... but I have been reading a lot and cant find any info on a resistor that should be in the mix??

I have been trying to upload a pic but cant seem to do it. Mainly the problem is with the P3 connection/modification.

Any help would be appreciated to get this machine working again.

well I see the pic was use less.
I will try to explain better. The P3 connection on surf 1.2 Apberg long board has 3 solder points two of the wires go to a switch which goes to delay 1 and delay 2, the third is not connected to anything!!
Can any one help me with this? please.

I added a 100k potentiometer to the p3 connection. I have volume steady hum. I set the offset to 0v. when I try connecting the coil ( i bought this unit) I get good volume until i try to connect to the ground then I hardly have any volume it has 28 awg wire.
also where is the best place to ground the coil on the board??

I am really lost on what to do next, any advice help is appreciated.
