Greetings to everyone. New to forum. I want to build the GC 1023. Searched for schematic with no luck. I only have pics of PCB from this forum. Does anyone have a schematic of this detector? Top side foil is obscured by components so it is difficult to reverse engineer schematic. I suspect it might be a clone but not able to match it to any schematic. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The chips are as follows: 3 TL064's, 1 LM339(that's the one obscured by glue), 1 CD4053 and1 LM339. This detector has a tone discrimination notch mode whereby everything to the left of where u set the disc control gives low tone, and everything to the right gives high tone. This is a nice feature. It has the same functionality as tracker 4 but the chips used are different Hence circuit is different. The detection depth is purported to be good, and they are no longer dirt cheap. The price is closer to $200 plus shipping. I happen to have a spair discovery 2 coil that would be perfect fit since it operation at 6.6khz or thereabouts.

U5 cannot be LM393 since this is an 8 pin DIP. It is LM339 which is a 14 pin IC. I have a picture of PCB from this forum with glue removed. It shows U5 as LM339. Anyway, I like building vintage MD circuits. I learn a lot while improving my skills. Right now I am building delta pulse(single side PCB), and a whites 6000/d series 2 on strip board. I have also completed 5 other detectors. So you see I'm relatively new to this as compared to others, but you have to start somewhere. Can't seem to figure out how to upload pictures.

Nigel in the Uk has been playing with his 1023. And it does have some fine qualities, in that respect I can see why you would like to build one and maybe try and improve it.
