Hello Hammerhead, you pioneer and revoluzer of civil treasure-hunting in Alexandria!
Beautiful finds, my congratulations! Now you have the money for bribing the authorities
to get a license and also that they give you as a present a good demining detector!

Do you really have found the rings with the metal-detector now? This would be super!
And it shows that your motivation to work with a metal-detector was good and pays off.

    Enjoy some oriental flair:

It really feels absolutely mystical if you listen to such songs while being alone in the wilderness for treasure-hunting!
As if you would have been beamed into a fairy-tale of 1001 nights! The more far away the songs, the more enchanting!

Hammerhead, I don't think it will be possible to improve the depth much for the Garrett Superscanner but
I am happy for you that it works! These kind of detectors don't have much depth.
The security-personell has to rub with the coil over the clothes!

But I hope that you can get the other detectors somehow working!
Perhaps you also can start to dig really deep holes near the beach and find fantastic antique stuff!
I would try it for a few times just for fun! And I'm pretty sure you would find something really old this way.
Good luck my friend and much success with all those electronic things you have meanwhile!

Why not buy a kit from Silverdog. I'm sure Andy will label it up as a Heating controller of something of that Ilk, if not I'll do it for you. I dont care what they say I don't anwser to ANY man. As long as you are not robbing archaeological sites then I will help you.

I thought Egypt was now run by the People as a Democracy after the rising?

I would say that you were lucky to receive the package. In my experience, there are certain countries (and one is Egypt) where parcels seem to mysteriously go missing. The problem is that it is a real pain receiving money via Western Union (usually requiring a special visit to the shop) and then major hassle trying to get compensation when the parcel doesn't arrive. It's just not worth the effort. So I can fully understand why Andy has blacklisted certain countries.

Salam Hammerhead - how much does it costs to travel by ship from Cyprus to Alexandria?

It might be possible for you to find trusted persons at Cyprus where somebody can sends metal-detector for you.
Then you visit Cyprus and take the detector with speed boat to Alexandria.

With diving equipment you also could dig out old buried stuff near the beach.
Or maybe you can built a dredge which blows away all the sand under water!

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_dredge

This is also treasure-hunting without metal detector!

Thank you - I will try to check out how much money is the Trip over Cyprus in Dollars or Euros!
One option for me would be visiting friends at Greece incl. treasure-hunting there, traveling from Greece to Cyprus and from Cyprus to Alexandria.
And the ship-crew has to hide the metal-detector very good somewhere!

Anyway, Hammerhead my friend, the main problem is really not to get a metal detector to Alexandria.
What in the end counts is that you can keep the metal detector, work with it and nobody comes and takes it away from you!

If the beach control sees you with a "real" metal-detector - what are they saying and doing? Calling the police?
And what is happening next if they know what you are doing? Looking at your home for "illegal" treasures?

You can try to get in contact with the museum chief of Alexandria so you are allowed to search for treasures. Officially.

It would be totally frustrating for you and me when I bring or send you a metal-detector and 2 days later someone
takes it away from you. It would have been everything for nothing.

But the main important thing is that treasure-hunting for you and your friends is really fun - no matter if with or without metal-detector!
It should not make any problems for your life and you should be able to live in peace and harmony where you are living.
