  • Has anybody tried to make a emi filter that goes in the coil lead of a pi detector

Anybody tried to make a emi filter that goes in the coil lead of a PI detector, did it work for you ? I've been investigating it, but its not easy with out messing up the pulse and target signal.

Commercially, the only thing that's ever done is a clamp-on ferrite choke.

SD2200 has SMT ferrite bead in the RX soldered on the board.

Thanks, I have had a play with those clamp ons and had some positive results, there is a PI coil lead filter available here in Australia, but its expensive, would be interesting to see whats inside , my first guess is just a length of coax wrapped around a ferrite ring

Hi, thanks, would you know what part of the circuit they have added the bead ?

There are 2 ferrite choke emi filters in the circuit (+2 more in the power supply).
