There is an 'odd' Lithium cell variety out there, that is mainly used for very high current applications, like Vape devices. They have a lower capacity , and seem to need charging to 3.7 Volts max. Your charger MAY be able to handle these type, so see what the manual says. Google tells me LFP, lithium iron phosphate is the type. But if you only charge to 3.7 V, I would expect lower run-time ....

hi skippy had a look at the book there is a auto function that sets the voltage for the type eg lipo li-lon life it checks before it charges and the amount of cells and balanced if it was wired. the maximum voltage for 3.6v cell is 4.1/4.2, i think you can program it or set it to manual, that why i ended up at 8.2v it was on auto.

whites inverness used to sell different options for this very purpose, nmh replacement packs, packs that took standard AA cells, and new nicad packs.
i know here we like to fashion our own solutions which is great if you have the skill, but some would prefer to just pay the fee and get standard parts, one of the photos above showed some energizer nmh batteries (the green ones they are exellent batteries), i use the in my scanners and handhelds, just remember to flatten them then fully recharge and they will last years.
BUT dont buy the supposedly "better" blue energizer rechargables for cameras and such, while they are more expensive they are crap and get memory charge effect, been there done that.
