good evening, I take this opportunity that Karim opened his coil to ask a little
question, I received the same detector yesterday for repair and I doubt that the
coil is defective because if you enlarge the attached photo, you can see that I "have
assigned four letters: ABCDE on the board of the coil and on point D I have two wires
that go to the small central coil, and as one of them is cut when going to the coil, I would like to know where it go, thank you
the early(pre china) microntia detectors work well enough to get you finding things, they were cheap stepping stones into the detecting hobby, they are also pretty robust, kids could get a couple of holidays out of them.
you can tweak them and get another inch, more with a quality coil tuned to the circuit, but they quickly start falsing if you do too much to them, tweak it enjoy it learn its secrets.
when you have done put it back standard and give it to the kids to play with.
i have a mint one in the box, just as a reminder.
i found allsorts as a kid with mine.
